The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Economic Indicators

Web Links and Updates by Chapter

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Economic Indicators provides an understandable but comprehensive guide to tracking the U.S. economy.  A big part of keeping up with the economy is to know where to find the latest updates on the economic news that is affecting the economy and your investments.  While the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Economic Indicators provides you an explanation of what to look for and what the indicators mean, it is nice to have ready access to the economic news on the web.

This site provides links to the sites discussed in the book on a chapter-by-chapter basis with some additional updates.  For better or worse, the economy has taken most of us on quite a roller coaster ride.  While we might have not been paying much attention before, now we know that economic news does matter personally.  And, hopefully, after digging into the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Economic Indicators, tracking the economy is not just easier and more understandable, but also more fun.  These links should help along your journey through the world of finance and economics.

Bonus Material

One of the toughest jobs in writing a book is to realize that you have more material—really interesting material—than can meet the publisher’s budget for printing the book.  So, this web site has a section called “Bonus Material” for each chapter in which cool stuff that did not have room to fit into the book is added.

What’s New?

The economy is constantly changing.  So, the “What’s New?” section of chapter web pages keeps you up to date on some of the latest issues on tracking the economy and interpreting the most followed economic indicators.

These web pages are under development, so keep checking back for additions.  Just in case you have not gotten your copy yet, here are some links to booksellers and the publisher for the book’s web page:

Also, once you get used to going to web sites for tracking the economy, my personal web site has links according to specific releases (such as the employment situation report or housing starts reports) and by topic (such as monetary policy or data download links).  See the link further below for my Economic Indicators site.
